Facelift

The facelift (rhytidectomy) is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of ageing in the face and neck. People usually choose a facelift when, in the course of the ageing process, excess skin becomes visible or deeper wrinkles become apparent through the sagging of tissue. With the full facelift, including neck tightening, the initial incision is made in the temporal hairline and continued down in front of, around and posterior to the ear and is usually not visible. With the mini face lift there are no incisions in the hairline. The facelift is performed under general anaesthetic.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below the eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel. The blepharoplasty is performed under local anaesthetic. Excess skin on the upper eyelid (sometimes together with fat and muscle tissue) is removed and the incision is in the natural crease of the eyelid, and is therefore barely visible. Lower eyelid surgery is performed with an incision just below the lower eyelashes (in the natural crease) to remove excess bags of fat and excess skin. After the operation the eyes are more open and larger, giving the face a more youthful and fresher appearance. Upper and lower eyelid surgery can be performed together with a facelift.

Nose Surgery

Being the centre of the face, the nose strongly affects a person's general appearance. The nose can be corrected with nose surgery (rhinoplasty) and thereby harmonize the rest of the face. Correction of nasal tip, dorsal lump and broadness of nose is performed under general anaesthetic. A deviated septum or breathing problems can be corrected together with rhinoplasty. There are no apparent scars, the rhinoplasty is usually performed from the inside of the nose. The skin is detached from the cartilage and bone and the nose is then reshaped. After the necessary alterations, the skin is reattached. You will need to wear a cast for 10-14 days to ensure proper healing and to protect the nose.

Ear Surgery

Ear surgery (otoplasty) is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. Ear surgery is usually performed under local anaesthesia. The cartilage of the inner ear is reduced and as a result the ear can be sutured into a normal position. The surgery leaves hardly any scars, if at all. You will wear a bandage for five days after the operation, after which you will be requested to wear a bandage only at night for a period of three weeks.
