Liposuction

Liposuction is a body contouring procedure, not an alternative to loosing weight. Lipoplasty can be performed on any part of the body, such as neck, upper arms, breast, tummy, hips, bottom, thighs, and knees. Lipoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic with PAL technology (Power Assisted Liposuction). It ensures minimal damage to the tissue, less bleeding and a much faster post-op recovery. As the incision from the suction tube is very small (5 mm), scarring is minimal. Pressure garments are used after surgery to compress the area to prevent swelling and bruising.

Tummy Tuck

The tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can be medically necessary or a purely cosmetic surgery. The procedure is usually performed after weight loss or pregnancy, if the stretched tissue does not return to its normal shape. Different techniques are used depending on the problem. If a small area of excess fat is found in the anterior abdominal wall, with no loose skin, liposuction is performed. If a small excess of skin is the problem a mini tummy tuck is performed, with or without liposuction. Lastly, a full tummy tuck involves a larger scar - a scar between the hips, above the pubic hairline, and a barely noticeable scar around the navel. The umbilicus is repositioned after the excess skin has been removed. Abdominoplasy is always performed under general anaesthetic.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia (enlarged male breasts) affects an estimated 40 to 60 percent of the male population. It may affect only one breast or both. The best candidates for male breast reduction are those who have firm, elastic skin that will reshape to the body's new contours. Enlarged male breasts can be reduced by liposuction and/or by cutting out excess glandular tissue. The procedure for male breast reduction is performed under general anaesthesia. There will be scarring around the nipple of the breast (areola) from this procedure but will fade over a period of time and be less visible. Some of the benefits of surgery include a firmer, flatter, more contoured chest which may give the male patient a boost in self-confidence. Results are permanent.

Thigh Lift Surgery

In a thigh lift (thighplasty), a section of excess skin and fat from all around the hip area is surgically removed. The thigh lift is ideal for patients who are in relatively good shape with excess skin and fat in the thigh area; it is particularly useful following massive weight loss. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. Lifting the inner thighs may require only short incisions extending from the anterior part of the thigh/groin crease around to the buttock crease. Lifting the entire thigh and buttock will require longer incisions that start in the buttock crease, extend around the groin, come up over the side of the abdomen and reach over the flank and across the back.

Upper Arm Lift

Fluctuations in weight and ageing can cause upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. Exercise may strengthen and improve the underlying muscle tone of the upper arm, but it cannot address excess skin that has lost elasticity or underlying weakened tissues and localized fat deposits.

Varicose Vein Surgery

Varicose veins are swollen, twisted and unsightly veins (usually on the legs) that look lumpy and bluish through the skin. They happen when the valves in the veins become weak or break, allowing blood to collect in the veins just under the skin instead of being carried up to the heart. Varicose veins do not tend to get better without treatment, and usually get worse with time. The most effective treatment for many varicose veins is to have them surgically removed. The operation varies a little from person to person, depending on where the faulty valves are.

Calf Enlargement

Calf implant surgery is performed to enlarge the calves, resulting in a more defined and muscular appearance. Most calf implant patients have lower legs that are out of proportion from their upper legs. Men may be seeking added bulk, while women may desire sexier contours in their lower legs. Calf shaping surgery is performed under general anaesthetic, where a small incision is made behind the knee and the calf implant is placed next to the calf muscle, making the calf muscle bulge out more.
